Workshop Series on “Research Methodology in Social Sciences”

Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue has launched a series of workshops on Research Methodology for the various departments of the university. While addressing the opening session of the first workshop Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIU emphasized that quality research is the need of the hour in this competitive world and these sorts of research activities must be promoted in the University. He opined that this series of workshops will address all the difficulties that the researchers in Pakistan encounter while expressing their thoughts and constructing research activities. He added that the resource persons of the workshops would thoroughly discuss the research design, review of literature, formulating research questions and hypotheses, collection of information, and analysis. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai lauded the efforts of IRD and Faculty of Social Sciences, IIU for jointly holding the first workshop of the series.

The resource person Dr. Qandeel Abbas, School of Politics and International Relations discussed dimensions of research, making research proposals, data collection techniques, and research ethics. Around 80 students from various departments of the Islamic University; Education, Politics & IR, History, and Pakistan Studies actively participated in the workshop.
