The Governing Council of the Iqbal International Institute for Research & Dialogue is comprised of;
- Rector, IIU (Chairman)
- President, IIU (Chairman)
- Two representatives of the Board of Governors, IIU (Members)
- Four scholars/eminent persons to be nominated by the Rector in consultation with the Vice Chairman (Members)
- Executive Director of the Institute (Member/Secretary)
The members other than ex-officio members of the Governing Council shall be initially for a period of two years and eligible for re-nomination.
The quorum for a meeting of the Governing Council shall be five members.
The meetings of the Governing Council can be convened, ordinarily at a ten-day notice specifying the time, date, place and supplying the agenda with working papers. However, a meeting in an emergency may be called at a notice of not less than three days.
Powers & Functions of the Governing Council
- The Governing Council of the Institute subject to the provisions of the International Islamic University Ordinance and the Statutes, Rules, and Regulations exercises general supervision over the affairs of the Institute.
