The Iqbal International Institute for Research & Dialogue (IRD) organized a One day Workshop on معتدل رویوں (وسطیہ) کے فروغ میں تعلیمی اداروں کا کردار at Allama Iqbal Auditorium, IIU Faisal Masjid, Islamabad on 21 November 2016.
The Madaris(religiosu seminaries ) can play vital role in promotion of peace and harmony in society, Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI.
IIUI is keen to produce harmonious personalities who own adequate knowledge of Islam and the university will welcome the bright students from Madaris.

He urged youth to play role in promotion of tolerance in the society and stressed that students of religious institutions must be brought in the main stream by inducting them into public sector universities. “IIUI is keen to produce harmonious personalities who own adequate knowledge of Islam and the university will welcome the bright students from Madaris. The workshop was also attended by Mr. Azhar Hussain, President, Mr. Rashad Bukhari, Executive Director Peace & Education Foundation, Mr Amir Rana of PIPS, and Dr. Husnul Amin, Executive Director IRD. The eminent scholars, Intellectuals & students from twin cities also attended the session. Mr. Azhar Hussain, President Peace & Education foundation said that unfortunately our society is divided into sects and there is strong negation of each other between one sect and another. He proposed that there should be “Research Centre for Religious Institutions Studies” which will pave way to create tolerance in society. Dr. Husnul Amin, Dr. Zaheer-u-din Behram and other renowned scholars also expressed their valuable views on the topic.Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI. said that Madaris can play vital role in promotion of peace and tolerance. The International Islamic University (IIU) is considering to provide 100 scholarships to students of religious institutions. He expressed these views in a seminar on “Role of educational institutions in promotion of tolerance” organized by the Iqbal International Institute for research & dialogue (IRD) here at Faisal Masjid campus.
