ABOUT THE BOOK
The book gives us varied information about various Sikh men, women and children living amongst the Muslims community in the heart of Peshawar city. The writer has enlightened the social, political, economic and religious aspect their lives and the part it plays in their daily life as well as the relation they have with their Muslim neighbors and the fragile co- existence created since centuries of living together.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Naheed Hussain belongs to a small village Qandil located in upper valley of district Swat. She obtained her MPhil degree in Pakistan Studies, form the Pakistan Study Center, University of Peshawar. Her dissertation concerned the cultural, social, political and economic landscape of Sikh Community in the Peshawar district. She also completed diploma in International Human Rights from the Department of Law, University of Peshawar in 2007 with a specialization in women Rights of Inheritance, Bachelor of Education from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad in 2005 and a diploma in social Mobilization from Institute Ruler Management Islamabad in 2002. She worked as an Assistant Monitoring and Evolution In-charge in National Plan of Action unit for women empowerment with the Directorate of Social Welfare and Women Development Peshawar from 2005 to 2007.
Naheed Hussain is currently an Assistant Professor, Pakistan Studies in Government Frontier College for Women Peshawar.
